Feeling is Healing
If you’re struggling with your emotions, it’s important to acknowledge these experiences as insight into what is really going on inside of you.
🧡 It’s important to FEEL.
🧡 FEELING is HEALING.
When we give voice to what we’re really feeling inside, rather than distracting ourselves and suppressing what is trying to get our attention, we allow it to move through our body with more ease and grace.
If you’re feeling stressed and anxious for example, allow your focus to drop into the body.
With a hand on your heart, say out loud to yourself, “Hello stressed and anxious me”
Explore - where is stressed and anxious me in the body?
If you get a sense of where stressed and anxious me is, (could you be in the throat, the solar plexus?), acknowledge that part of you and give voice to the feeling.
Express - “I’m sorry me that feels stressed and anxious”
“I see you, I feel you, I hear you, stressed and anxious me”
You might get a sense of an age of you that’s the one that is really stressed and anxious. You might get a memory of a time when you felt this way before.
Acknowledge that part/age of you. “I’m sorry 5 year old me in my throat that you’re stressed and anxious (for example). I see you, I feel you, I hear you”.
“I Love You, 5 year old stressed and anxious me”.
You may know how they came to feel that way if you sensed a memory. Bring in love and compassion for that part of you and ask them what they need right now?
What do they need that they didn’t get then? You can give it to that part/age of you now and ultimately to yourself.
Love - “I love you 5 year old me, I Love you, all parts of me, I Love You, Me”
If you didn’t sense a different age of when you may have first felt stressed and anxious, don’t worry, keep saying the words to adult you right now.
It can be hard to meet those painful emotions and younger parts of us on our own until we are familiar with feeling and connecting again, so 1:1 sessions can be helpful to get you used to being in this space of meeting yourself and ultimately healing yourself.
